Validation of a license issued in accordance with JAR FCL
This note details the criteria retained to determine whether the pilot license validation is or is not required to be allowed to fly a French registered aircraft operated by a French operator.
Licences issued in accordance with JAR FCL by a Member State of the EEE(composed of EU Member States, Island, Norway, Liechtenstein and Switzerland.) are eligible for mutual recognition and as so, does not need to obtain a validation to fly French registered aircraft or to fly for a French operator.
Only licences issued in accordance with ICAO Annex I by an EEE third country can be validated.

The validation will not exceed one year and will not be renewable, after this period, the applicant must enter a Part FCL course in order to obtain a Part FCL compliant licence.
